We offer courses for Business English, Exam Preparation (IELTS and TOEFL), Spoken English, Corporate Training and English for Academic Purposes. You can also take a one-on-one coaching session for your academic and business needs or attend one of our workshops/webinars. We also offer company courses designed for the specific needs of the client.
Business English courses generally focus on business topics like project management and office etiquette. You will practice and learn new English skills like holding a staff meeting, reading a formal email request, listening to an informal conversation at a conference, or writing a memo. Each course is based on Common European Framework levels e.g. pre-intermediate A2, intermediate B1, upper-intermediate B2, and advanced C1. One level consists of eight modules.
IELTS and TOEFL courses focus on exam skills to maximize your marks for entrance into university or for international visas. All aspects of the tests, including, reading, writing, speaking, and listening will be reviewed and practiced in a stand-alone 8 week course (two, four-week modules). You can join if your placement test level is intermediate and above.
English for Academic Purposes courses focus on academic English, specifically for studying in an English speaking university setting. This type of course fits in well before you take an exam preparation course (IELTS or TOEFL). These challenging classes teach you not only the English skills necessary to study abroad, but also academic skills like note taking, referencing sources, critical analysis and writing research papers. One level consists of seven, four-week modules.
The aim of Spoken English, a communicative and interactive course, is to help you improve your language skills so you can communicate more confidently in real-life situations. These classes are perfect for those that would like to improve their English fluency skills while talking about interesting topics with other learners. These are ongoing courses that you can join every four
weeks.
Coaching sessions are one-on-one 60-minute sessions based on a topic you choose. For example, if you have a job interview in English coming up, you can schedule a tutorial where the teacher will offer tips and will guide you through the interview process. Other examples of tutorials could include but are not limited to: writing an academic essay, IELTS or TOEFL speaking practice, or even General English lessons if you prefer learning in a one-on-one setting.
Yes. We’d like all our students to take the online placement test with Oxford. You will also have a placement interview with one of our instructors on Zoom where your test results will be shared and explained to you. During this meeting you will also discuss the most suitable learning solutions to address your needs. The Placement test has a fee of $12 USD paid in advance and is deducted from the course fees when you sign up (results are valid for 6 months).
Most classes meet twice per week for 1.5 hours per class on Zoom, while IELTS Intensives meet three times per week. All courses have additional self-study tasks and materials to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the learning by focusing on areas to work on and increasing student communication during the Zoom lessons.
All Academic, Business and Exam Preparation courses will have a minimum of four and a maximum of twelve students.
Your teacher will give regular general feedback during the lessons. You will also receive written feedback for one speaking and one writing assessment during a Module. Once you have completed the Modules in a Level and you received the approval from your teacher, you will receive a certificate of completion.

Our courses aim to use a communicative, task-based approach. The goal of the courses is to allow students to communicate fluently with each other and their instructor in order to better complete specific language tasks. In addition, in order to make the best use of class time on Zoom, teachers will be using a “flipped classroom”.
A flipped classroom is where learners will have to complete a pre-lesson task, such as a reading task, or watching a grammar explanation before the class. This is to make sure most of the time during the face-to-face class will be spent on communication, clarification, and revision. An example of these methodologies in practice can be illustrated below:
Aim: Learners will be better able to offer advice to others on personal issues
Pre-lesson task - Learners read an advice column prior to class and notice and take notes of common phrases to give advice.
In-class, Main Task - Learners will listen to three situations and discuss what advice they’d give to the speakers. The teacher and other students will offer feedback and help build each others’ knowledge of phrases, forms and pronunciation used for giving advice. Students will then state some of their own personal problems and will receive advice from their partners using what they have just learnt. Students and teacher may offer further feedback.
Post-lesson task - Learners will write a short advice column using phrases for advice from the classroom session
Our General and Business courses are split into levels, modules, and lessons (lessons include live Zoom lessons and self-study).
Level
A level is based on a Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) e.g. elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate, and advanced. Placement into a level is based on completion of the Oxford placement test, or completion of the previous level and teacher recommendation. One level will usually take 40 weeks to complete. Academic English consists of 10 modules while Business English consists of 8 modules
Module/Theme
A module consists of a group of similarly themed, task-based lessons. Business English and English for Academic Purposes includes eight lessons per module.
Lesson
One lesson consists of three parts, pre-task, Zoom meeting (main task), and post task. The pre-task prepares you with the language you need for the live Zoom lesson task. The Zoom meeting offers you a chance to communicate with others and receive feedback from your instructor, while the post-task allows you to revise what was learnt during the Zoom meeting. Pre- and post-tasks amount to 45 minutes, while the Zoom meeting is 1.5 hours.
